That's Just Awesome/Rant - Debate on a hentai comments page

This made me laugh. At the end of a hentai manga titled, "Kousoku-BUD" there was a giant debate on the comments section of the page about the amount of Feminism (which is more about being pro-lesbian than standing for woman's right) in the manga and how its use is just plain stupid. Here's the debate line for line and don't worry its suitable for work, unless words like lesbian and bisexual get you in trouble, in which case I'm sorry, but your boss is standing behind you waiting to fire you.

I feel sorry for Manami, but at the same time, I can't help but feel that she's become a complete and utter bitch for dumping her boyfriend and turning into what she did. It sounds like she's become as much of a predatory lesbian as the doctor and nurse ...
It also sounds like there's no chance for any girl who stays at the hospital to come out heterosexual and virgin. The entire place is just a brainwashing facility.

Cyde
This story is a Freudian nightmare.

UnknownVet
But it's a hot Freudian nightmare. The doctor, though, was a completely transparent strawman feminist. And Manami turned from straight to lesbian just as fast as Anakin Skywalker went from good to evil. Bad writing there.
Besides, I get the feeling Manami would have been much happier returning to her boyfriend, had she not been brainwashed into hating him. And something tells me the guy wouldn't have minded her new body.

yuknow, it took 22 1/2 movies for annie to go evil. 1?$ ofthe movie 1, he wasn't there, and 1/4 in #3, he was already evil. this was like five minutes
(ok I don't get what this guy is saying but UnknownVet does for some reason)

UnknownVet
Yes, he wasn't evil in the first two movies, though he had some antihero tendencies in the second and first part of the third. There were, however, perhaps ten or fifteen minutes out of the entire prequel trilogy where you're not sure if you're looking at Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi, or Darth Vader, the Sith. Before, he was obviously a good guy. After, he was clearly a (near) irredeemable villin.
That's what I was comparing our "heroine" too. It takes only a few pages for her to go from only liking guys to only liking girls. I was not saying anything about the TIMING of either implausibly rapid conversion, only the SPEED at which it occurred.

Well, she did kind of have some innate lesbian tendencies? But she might have been closer to bisexual ...

UnknownVet
@ anon: There were really no indications of Manami having any sort of homo-/bisexual tendencies prior to her "treatment." The only person she seemed to harbor any romantic inclinations or sexual attraction for at all was her BF, until being brainwashed by the doctor.
And not only that, the method she used to effect such a drastic change is one that would make Hannibal Lector proud. Few villains habitually employ mind rape. Even fewer do so without resorting to some supernatural mental attack (magic/psychic powers/etc.). And here's one who does it with words alone (or possibly aided by drugs), and it seems to be implied the entire clinic staff consists of her victims.

I think what anon means is the thing where the doctor talked about her being attracted by the pheremones they were pumping out of the basement. Assuming the doctor was telling the truth, if Manami didn't have a bit of a lesbian tendency, she wouldn't have reacted that way.
On the other hand, even if the doctor was telling the truth, there's no reason to believe that Manami would have reacted to the basement the same way prior to her treatment. So ...

END OF COMMENTS

Ok to clarify, the manga in question was about a high school girl who is tricked into staying at a hospital over an extended period of time and is slowly brainwashed (and physically altered, if you catch my drift) into becoming a man hating lesbian. Like UnknownVet was saying it was mostly brainwashing by using words and physical temptation, all of which is very sexist from my point of view saying lines like, "You only feel like you've done something wrong because you've been conditioned to accept heterosexual morality as natural law. The reality is, it's merely a set of guidelines fabricated by men to subjugate woman and prevent us from following our instincts." Yes this was a pretty wordy hentai.

But seriously, I don't get why some woman can think this. Sure some men are assholes, but not all of us. For me personally, I've always put my girlfriend's interests first before mine and I do nothing without consent because I care and want the best for the people that I love. I hate it when someone groups everyone into one giant evil stereotype cause of the act of a few people they might have known in the past. Ladies listen to me, NOT ALL MEN ARE EVIL!

Going back to the comic, the boyfriend in question is only seen in one panel, and Manami doesn't act like he's forcing her to have sex with him. Its implied that he's begging, but what man doesn't beg like an idiot. Every woman has a right to say no! If he listens, he loves you or respects you enough to care for who you are and what you believe. If he does it anyway, that's rape, sue. What gets me is that at the end Manami dumps her boyfriend cause of the evil things said about him by the doctor. Again, they were fine when she entered into the hospital, but now that a doctor has told her to be a lesbian there past relationship means absolutely nothing, but then again that is the point of brainwashing.

Asides from the fact that I thought the responses from UnknownVet were funny, the second reason for bringing this up is the fact that I've run into this type of storyline before and it pisses me off. Girl has good relationship with boyfriend, girl meets other girl who tells her their relationship means nothing, and girl dumps boyfriend to sleep with other girl while he has done nothing wrong. Look, I'm pro-homosexuality. I'm NOT saying being gay is wrong or anything like that. Love comes in many different ways and forms and I'm not going to take away someone's happiness just cause they found it in someone who has the same sex as them. That's not what I'm getting at, its the "men are evil scumbags" thing that bothers me, along with leaving a lover for no good reason other than the fact that someone told someone else to do so.

Most of the stories I've read about this subject not only make men look evil, it makes feminism look evil too. By having a character say they are a feminist and having them say men are straight up evil doesn't even get close to what feminism is about. Feminism (from my view point) is about making sure woman have equal rights, and that they aren't placed in situations that belittles them because of there gender. A feminist is still able to love a man, as long as the man respects her rights. Why do these writers make stories to make feminist to be cold hearted male hating people? I don't get it.

Not only that but I've read and seen good stories about becoming a lesbian that were for good reasons. A great example is "Parade Parade." In that story, one woman is tricked into being raped by a group of men along with another woman and after the horrific event is over, the two stick together in order to protect each other from being abused by anyone ever again. It was heart warming to see these two woman bond over each others loses and their love was formed from a want to protect each other, not because men are evil. And not just protect themselves from other men, but the music industry they were working in. That story is fair better written than any of the massive amount of stories I read about lesbian brainwashing.

My mother would be so proud to know that her son has just written a 833 word article about a comic featuring hermaphrodites with a twisted sense of feminism.
